NC State researchers have been looking into phobias and anxieties exhibited by dogs for years now and have found that around 40 percent families studied reported some sort of anxiety for at least one of their dogs.

The article was really more about a device designed by Phil Blizzard, the Thundershirt, but we just want to pass along to you that your dogs’ negative reactions to thunderstorms in certainly not unusual.

Not to be outdone, Shuler Veterinary Clinic put a fresh coat of paint on their building and will soon be doing some landscaping to blend in with the new business.

Watch the progress as you drive by on Highway 17. It seems as though Mount Pleasant Town Center is almost including Shuler Veterinary Clinic.

There is a great article in the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine 2007-2008 Report to Donors.

The article talks about how memorial contributions to honor pets are not only being made by owners, but also by the pets’ veterinarians.  The story tells of how Dr. Kevin Shuler made a memorial gift in honor of a customer’s springer spaniel that had died.  The owner was so moved that he contributed $25,000 to the New Teaching Hospital Building Fund.

When interviewed, he told of how Dr. Kevin Shuler was a wonderful sincere caregiver, and that he and his father, Dr. K.C. Shuler, had taken care of his pets all of their lives. He further stated that the Shulers were more than just business owners to him and his wife, they were like family doctors.

Pet Keepers Mount Pleasant SC Boarding Kennel is busily preparing for the holiday season.

The last part part of December and early January is the busiest time of the year for dog boarding and cat boarding. In addition, most families like to have “Scruffy” look his best for holiday guests and get a Pet Keepers professional HydroSurge bath, ear cleaning and nail trim.
